LONDON, UK - 19.06.09: More than 300 protesters gathered outside the Burmese embassy in London to celebrate the 64th birthday of Burma's democracy icon, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. The peaceful protest saw yellow ribbons and pictures of Aung San Suu Kyi tied to the railings of the Burmese embassy whilst leading figures in the democracy movement, including exiled Burmese politicians, gave speeches outlining the ongoing disastrous economic and political situation inside Burma. Aung San Suu Kyi's brother in law Anthony Aris presented a bouquet of Sein Chae flowers as a symbolic gift to her indicating her strength and courage under her continual illegal detention by the ruling military regime. She has spent more than 13 of the past 19 years under house arrest. Currently, she is detained awaiting trial in Insein Jail in Rangoon, Burma.
