Aung San Suu Kyi is sentenced to 18 months House Arrest

RANGOON, BURMA - 11.08.09: Burma's democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi has been sentenced today to 3 years hard labour at the sham trial being held at Insein prison in Rangoon, Burma. The sentence has been reduced to 18 months house arrest and she has now returned to her house at 54 University Avenue - the site of the intrusion of the American visitor, John Yettaw, that caused her to be arrested on May 18th.
