Ler Per Her IDP camp attacked in Burma

KAREN STATE, BURMA - 09.06.09: Ler Per Her refugee camp for internally displaced people (IDPs) has been evacuated as the Burmese army stepped up its military offensives against the Karen National Liberation army (KNLA). On the morning of June 6th joint forces from the Burmese army and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) launched rockets and mortar grenades in a bombardment of the camp and the surrounding villages. More than 3,000 villagers fled for their lives across the Moei river to seek refuge in Thailand.
