KNLA Brigade 7 Headquarters falls to Burmese Army

KAREN STATE, BURMA - 22.06.09: The headquarters of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade 7 have been been seized by the joint forces of the Burmese army and the Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA). The KNLA had recently lost 3 battalion bases in the past few weeks during intensive fighting that has seen more than 4,000 karen villagers flee across the border into Thailand. The KNLA are no forced to resort to guerilla tactics to defend the area from the ongoing military offensives against them. Thailand is starting to repatriate refugees back across the border which will result in a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions.
