Vive La Revolution
The 60th anniversary of Karen Revolution Day was held on January 31st 2009 at the headquarters of 7th Brigade of the Karen National Liberation Army in Kawthoolei. Soldiers in full uniform and several thousand Karen people in colourful traditional clothing gathered in the early morning mist, many having travelled from across the border in Thailand and from their villages deep in side Karen State to join in the annual celebrations. A commemorative parade was followed by traditional dancing.
